The ION 2010 Annual Conference

You are Invited

We would like to extend a special invitation for you to join us at the 2010 International Orality Network (ION) Annual Conference, September 20-23, 2010.

As a previous attendee, we want to give you an "advance opportunity" to register and secure one of the prime housing spots at this year's event. We also are offering a $25 discount if you sign-up and make your down payment before June 1st.

The event will be held at the Winshape Retreat center located just to the northwest of Atlanta. Over the past few years we've been making adjustments based on your feedback.

Last year we went to an elective seminar track focus which allowed attendees to put together their own schedule focused on their needs. That worked well. We also moved to a church facility to help cut the cost.

The big change this year is that we are moving to a retreat center so that the housing and meetings are once again located near each other (and not 20 minutes apart like last year).

The Same Cost as Last Year

The exciting part is that we've been able to keep the cost the same as last year. Plus we even have a second option for "cabin" housing which can reduce your housing cost to as low as $20 per person per night!

Until June 1st the cost will be $205 for the conference portion (then $230 regular price). This price includes your meals, conference materials, entrance to the sessions and wireless internet access.

Why Attend Again?

We have designed the conference to span the breath of experience from those just new to orality all the way to the "experts" in the field. There are numerous levels for involvment. Here are some of the main reasons to return as an attendee:

  • To renew friendships with people you've met before
  • For opportunities to meet others who share your interests.
  • To take some of the "advanced" level courses.
  • Attend a seminar track not within your main focus area to give you a more full understanding of orality.
  • Become more informed about new ideas and exciting trends happening around the world.
  • You may also want to consider giving a seminar if you feel you have something to offer others.

Housing is Limited

Housing is based on your choice of single or double occupancy lodge accomodations ($95 or $55/night respectively) or cabin housing of three to five people ($20 to $45/night).

We have a limited number of rooms available in the lodge and they will be offered on a first-come basis.

Frequent Questions

We have prepared a special page to deal with some common questions like, airport transportation, free time options, more details about housing, and promotional materials to invite others. To view the FAQs, click here.

Comments from Last Year

It opened my eyes to the need for using oral methods. Now I see it as a vital, do-able way to naturally share the gospel. Now I feel like I can effectively share the word with the masses, not only the educated. I am excited.

Prior to this conf I wasn't even aware of what Orality was.
I saw a clear picture of what part storytelling God's word will play in my ministry.

Please invite others to join you September 20-23, 2010!
